Kjar Family Christmas

This weekend we had a really fun weekend. My mom and dad were nice enough, (since we are not going to be all together for Christmas this year) to buy all of us hotel rooms at the Marriott in Salt Lake. We headed up to Tooele on Friday night when Landon got home from work about 7. We hit a snowstorm by Fillmore and didn't know if we were going to be able to make it, but by Nephi it stopped snowing and we made to Tooele about 12:30. Then on Saturday we got up and got ready to head to Salt Lake. Then my mom and dad, Cashelle and AJ and Landon and I met up with Chris and Amanda at the Gateway. We ate lunch there and then we went to Build a Bear Workshop and I made a cute little teddy bear for Jayleigh. Madalynn and Audrey also got to make them Hannah Montana bears and they were VERY excited! After we were done there we headed to our hotel and got checked in. We went up to our room and I took about an hour nap while Landon went and checked out the hotel. We then all bundled up and headed out to go to Temple Square to look at all the beautiful lights and the Temple. Thomas was begging to ride the choo-choo (Trax) and so we decided to take a little ride. If you want some enjoyment, you should have seen all of us trying to get on and off Trax. When we got there everybody had gotten on while my mom, AJ and myself were last, and AJ was trying to get on there 2 person stroller. While we were watching AJ try to get the stroller in we heard this beeping noise. Well my mom and I had never been on Trax before so we asked "What's that noise?" AJ responds "Oh that means that doors are going to close." You should have seen my moms face and mine probably. We pushed AJ out of the way so that we could get on because were terrified that we were going to get left on the sidewalk or smashed in the doors. I'm sure you had to be there for it to be funny but it was hilarious. The people already on there were probably thinking that we were nuts!!! So we made it to Temple Square and it was beautiful. I have not been there for a very long time and it was so much fun to be able to go back. After we went and looked at the lights we went back to the hotel room, had pizza delivered and then we went swimming. We had so much fun and I am so sad that it is over but I just want to tell my mom and dad THANK YOU for everything!! It was so good to be able to be with the whole family and we will need to do it again! Here are a few of the pictures that I took of this adventure.

Just an update

Well I had to go to the doctor just for one of my checkups, and the doctor thought that I was measuring a little big so he had me go have an ultrasound today. Well everything is fine and I am just measuring a tiny bit bigger and so there is nothing to worry about. The doctor called me after my ultrasound and let me know that everything is good and that she is the 42nd percentile for her height and everything. He said my fluid looks like the reason that I am measuring a little big. Anyway while we were at the appointment they printed off these awesome 3-D pictures and I just wanted to share them with everybody. You can see her face really well and I think that she looks like she is pretty stinkin' cute but you can be the judge for yourself.

Count your blessings

I found this quote by John Bytheway that I really like and it is so true!!! I just thought that I would post it for you all to enjoy. "Lots of people complain. Most people complain about their problems, but miserable people are different- they complain about their blessings. If their car breaks down, they complain that it isn't new. If their waitress is slow, they complain and withhold a tip. If their cell phone drops a call, they complain about their service. They're like the people in the Old Testament who got free food from heaven and said, "What? Manna again?" By contrast, happy people are grateful to have a car, thankful they can afford to eat at a restaurant, and stoked that they have a cell phone. Most people in the world don't have cars, can't afford restaurants, and have never sent a text message. Happy people count their blessings, while miserable complain about theirs." --John Bytheway

Well we had a wonderful Thanksgiving and we hope that everybody else had a good one too. We went up to Manti for Thanksgiving and had Thanksgiving dinner at my Grandma Duncan's. There was tons of people of there and it was a lot of fun and it was SO good to see everyone. On Friday Landon, my mom, Amanda, and I went shopping. We left Manti at 2:30 am and had so much fun!! Later that afternoon my mom, Amanda, and my sister threw me a great baby shower. I want to thank everybody for coming to that and I appreciate everything so much! On Saturday we had a Duncan family Christmas party. Even my dad got to sit on Santa's lap! Landon went out to the sand dunes with his family and a really fun time! Well here are a couple of highlights from the past weekend. Hope everybody else had as much fun as we did!!!

I'm Going To Miss My Friend

Sorry I know that if you have been to my mom's site that you have already seen this picture but I just wanted to say a few things. Yesterday my mom and dad had to have our cat that we have had for about 15 or 16 years put to sleep. She was such a good cat and I am so thankful that we are able to have her as a part of our lives. I remember the day that we got Simba. We went up to Salt Lake and got my dad his new truck. On the way home he suggested that we stop at the Humane Society and just look around, and that is where we found her. When we first met Simba she was climbing her cage upside down, putting her paws in the water, and you could just tell that she was full of mischief. We had a lot of fun times with Simba. I remember when we had to take her back up to the Humane Socitey to be spade. We had only had for a little while and we had to take her up there and leave her for a while. When we went back up there to get her she ran straight to my mom for her to pick her up. Even though we had only had her for such a short while she knew where she belonged. Another time that I remember of Simba is when she was in her older years and we got leather couches and had to have her de-clawed. We took her down to the vet and when we went to go and pick her up she had two great big pink casts on her paws. When we tried to get her out of the cage she swung at us and would not let us pick her up. We had to throw a towel over her head just to get her our of the cage. Then on the way home she was still doped up on the pain medicine and she was having a hard time standing. Even though when Simba got older and did not like to be around people and kids she was still one of my best friends. She could tell when you were sad or sick and all she wanted to do was be by your side. When I got married and moved away I missed her VERY VERY much. My favorite memory of Simba was when my Grandpa Kjar died. I wasn't working yet in Cedar since Landon and I had just gotten married about a month prior and Landon let me stay up with my mom and dad for that whole week until the funeral. Simba could tell I was upset and she slept by my side for about 3 days and always came up to me and rubbed my leg, in her way letting me know that it would all be okay. Well sorry that this post was so long but I just wanted to pay some tribute to one of my best and loyal friends. I LOVE YOU SIMBA AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!

This weekend we had so much fun. My mom and dad came down on Friday night and stayed with us and we all went to the Manti semi-final game on Saturday. Manti won and so next weekend we are headed up to Orem to go to the finals with my parents again. It was so nice to be able to have them down here with us. Can't wait for February when my mom gets to spend a couple of days with me!!! :)

Nothing new

Well I just thought that since we haven't updated our blog in forever I would let everybody know what we have been up to. Well to tell you the truth we haven't been up to a whole lot. I have just been going to my doctor appointments on a monthly basis and everything has been going well. I go again on the 1st of December and then after that I start going every 2 weeks!! I cannot believe that we are already only 3 months away!!!! I also thought that we would let everybody know that we have decided on a name for our baby girl. Her name is going to Jayleigh Kay Twitchell. We are so excited to see her and we cannot wait for her to get here! I also want to say how grateful I am for my Aunt Kathy and Uncle Larry that they are okay. There were in a rollover car accident this past week and luckily they were able to walk away from it. We are so grateful that they are okay! Well sorry again that it has been so long but just wanted to let you know what was happening! :)

Its a ...........GIRL!

Well for those of you who voted for a girl. You were absolutely right. Landon and I went to the doctor today and had an ultrasound. We are excited for this little bundle of joy. Landon had a hard time adjusting to the idea of not having a little boy but he will love this little girl. Here are some pictures of the ultrasound. I know that they are kind of hard to make out but if you look at them long enough you can maybe figure them out.
This one is a side profile of her head. Off to the left you kind of see a little hand. Then on the right next to that is her face. If you study it really closely you can see her nose, eye, and little mouth. This is by far my favorite picture that was taken!
Here is her hand up her face. She had her hand up by her face the whole entire time we were there. Here is where you can tell that it is a girl. Wide open shot! She obviously didn't want us mistaken her for a boy!
It was really fun to be able to finally see her and be able to tell what some of the things that we were looking at were. If you know Landon you know that he rubs his feet together all the time. Well she is definitely already a daddy's girl because we had one shot where she was rubbing her feet together just like daddy!

Don't forget to vote!

Just so you all know Landon and I are going to the Dr. on Friday the 26th to find out what we are having. We would like you all to cast your vote (off to the right). Check back Friday to see the results!

Successful Elk Hunt!

Well he did it! Landon got his big bull. He shot it early Thursday morning and it is a really nice one! It is a six by seven and needless to say I am just so grateful he got one! It was really lonely around here while he was gone but at least now he is back! Sorry these pictures are out of order. But I wanted one from the side so you could actually see the 7th point. Now we have meat to last us for a while! That's always a good thing!
Here is the mighty hunter with his trophy!
