I have been thinking these past couple of days how lucky I am to have the family I do. I have an amazing husband who can get on my nerves, but I believe that is part of being married. More often than not I think I relay the message to him that I don't appreciate him. I want him to know how much I love and appreciate everything he does for our little family. He is great with Jayleigh and she loves him to death. He doesn't like to give her baths or just do the common everyday things with her, he would just rather I take care of it, and I will admit it, I have gotten angry about it a number of times. But you know what? After thinking about it for a long time, I have decided that is okay. I would rather him play with her and do special things with her. After all when she is older she isn't going to look back and remember all the bath times, or the times he helped her with dinner, or the times he helped her go to the bathroom. She is going to look back remember and the time he took to spend with her, when he played kitchen with her, all the many tea parties he had with her, the dozens of matching games, and taking her on the mountain. I guess I have just gotten caught up in the routine day to day things, I have taken time to look at the little things that seem insignificant right now, but in the long run is going to shape who she is as a person. We are approaching our 5 year anniversary and I have also been thinking how blessed I am to have made it to this point. In this day and age it's sad to say but being married 5 years to the world is a long time! I think we have grown so much closer, we have a deeper love and understanding of each other. I'm so lucky that I married my best friend. I don't know what I would do without him and I'm so happy to be able to spend the rest of my life growing old with him, he does keep me on my toes all the time!
Another thing that I am so grateful for is my little Jayleigh. She is so full of love and light, and I just wish I could have a video camera on her at all times. Even though there are days that I can't wait for her to be in bed, many times after she is in bed, I just like to stand by her door and stare at her. She is so precious and so loving it is unbelievable to me. She is always wanting to make sure I'm happy and that everything is okay. She is so funny to listen to and watch play. I know someday she is going to be such a good big sister, and such a good little mother her self. The way she takes care of her babies amazes me. I cannot believe that she will be 3 in a couple of weeks! We are heading to Disneyland in a week and I cannot wait to sit and watch her expressions and see how excited she gets when she will see all the Princesses and Tinkerbell. I'm so lucky that she is my best friend and I cannot wait to see her after a long day at work. She lights up my day in a way that nobody else can. I love you so much Jayleigh and I can't wait to see what life has in store for us. I'm so excited for the dance recitals, the school programs, etc. Remember that I will be here for you. When you are going to school you will have your ups and downs I hope that you will always feel like you can tell me anything. I want to help you through anything I can. I wish that I would be able to take all the hurt away from you, but I know I won't be able to. I will be here for a shoulder to cry on, a listening ear when you need to talk, and I will be your biggest fan and supporter in anything you decide to do in life. I love you more than anything on the earth and I hope that you always know that!
